Marvel Producer Teases Sam Wilson Facing off with Thunderbolt Ross in CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER
Marvel’s Captain America: New World Order will find Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson facing off with Harrison Ford’s General “Thunderbolt” Ross. This is one aspect of the film that I’m looking forward to seeing and during a recent interview with producer Nate Moore, he teases what we can expect from this. He told Collider:
"Sam Wilson's Captain America, he is going to bring his own team to play. It's no secret that Samuel Sterns is making his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is fantastic because Tim Blake Nelson's the best.”
Nelson will take on the role of The Leader, who previously appeared in The Incredible Hulk. He went on to say:
"Harrison Ford is taking on the role of General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross, and to see Sam Wilson and Thunderbolt Ross, which if you remember actually threw him in prison at the end of Civil War because he violated the Sokovia Accords. There's going to be some natural sparks there, which I think are going to be really fun."
We don’t really know anything about the plot of Captain America: New World Order, but it’s good to know there’s going to be some intensity between these two characters.
Danny Ramirez will also be in the film and is reprising his role as Joaquin Torres. Torres will take on the mantle of Falcon. Carl Lumbly will return as Isaiah Bradley, while Shira Haas joins the line-up as Sabra.
Julius Onah is set to direct the film from a script penned by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman, both of whom wrote for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Spellman will produce with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige.
Captain America: New World Order opens in theaters on May 3rd, 2024.
