Marvel Releases a Fun First Trailer for THE MARVELS
Marvel has released the first trailer for its upcoming film The Marvels, which brings together
Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and they embark on a wild intergalactic adventure. This was a movie that I initially wasn’t really that excited about, but after watching this trailer, it seems like it will be a lot of fun! It looks a lot better than what I was expecting. The movie has a very playful tone to it.
The movie follows the events of Ms. Marvel and sees Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau unexpectedly swapping places with each other every time they use their powers, so they have to team up to figure out why. The film also sees the franchise returns of Samuel L. Jackson, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur. New cast members include Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.
When previously talking about the movie, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared his excitement for it and says that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan steals the show. He said: "There's something immensely powerful about seeing Monica & Kamala & Carol together in a frame. It's chill-inducing. They're so great together.” He went on to add:
"Kamala Khan, for instance, is a great new character in the pantheon. I'm very proud of the Ms. Marvel show. I also know — and this is a spoiler — she essentially steals The Marvels, which is coming out [July 28]. It makes me excited that people will, I hope, see that movie and then go back and revisit those shows on Disney+."
Feige went on to say: "The great thing about Kamala in her show, and now in this movie, is that she's not unlike Tom Holland's Peter Parker in Civil War. She can't believe she's with these other heroes, and can't believe that she finds herself in these places. And that's fun because we want to be that. I want to be that."
Nia DaCosta is directing the movie from a script by written by Megan McDonnell. The movie is also said to “include many important MCU characters,” with the film being described as a "mini-Avengers film."
The Marvels is set to hit theaters on November 10th.
