Marvel Releases a Wonderful Stan Lee Tribute Video
Marvel has released an official video that wonderfully pays tribute to the legendary Stan Lee. As you know, Lee passed away and some fans are still feeling the affects of that news.
It’s been moving reading through everything that his fans have been saying about Lee on social media and on the website. Lee influences so many of our lives through his work and his infectious excitement and personality.
The tribute reel below features old video footage and photos of Stan Lee and also features several talented individuals talking about Lee and what he did for them and for the world.
The reel starts off with an excerpt from a TV pilot from 1968 in which Lee says:
"I'm Stan Lee. I have been writing stories for the young generation for the past 30 years. During this time I think I've learned a lot about what young people think. More importantly, I think I've learned a lot about what young people are. We're going to try to present a voice that somebody will listen to. The voice is needed. We hope it will be ours."
Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada shares a nice little moment that he had with Lee and Editor Tom Breevort talks about how Stan Lee’s greatest creation was himself:
"Well, Stan's best creation was always Stan. As a creative figure is one thing. Stan as a personality was able to somehow tap into his own larger than life self-effacing and self-aggrandizing at the same time personality."
You can’t really argue with that. The following statement was also released with the video:
"Marvel and The Walt Disney Company salute the life and career of Stan Lee and offer our undying gratitude for his unmatchable accomplishments within our halls. Every time you open a Marvel comic, Stan will be there. Please join us in remembering Stan "The Man" Lee."
Now, enjoy the video.
