Marvel Reportedly Developing a SILVER SURFER Movie

According to a report from GWW, their inside sources are saying that Marvel Studios is actively developing a Silver Surfer movie.

As you know, Marvel recently got the rights back to all the Fantastic Four characters, and we know that there is a Fantastic Four film in development. It’s not too farfetched to think that a Silver Surfer will eventually happen, especially if they are looking to eventually introduce Galactus as a villain in the MCU.

Silver Surfer, a.k.a Norrin Radd of Zenn-La, is “the mighty herald of Galactus, the devourer of worlds. Gifted with the Power Cosmic and a trusty board that's faster than light speed which he can summon at will whenever needed, Norrin Radd travels to distant stars and throughout the universe as the Silver Surfer.”

The character was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in Fantastic Four #48 in 1966. Ant-Man writer Adam McKay previously expressed strong interest in directing a Silver Surfer solo film saying:

“Silver Surfer is the one I want to do, man. I would do anything to do Silver Surfer because, visually, you could do what the Wachowskis did with Speed Racer with the Silver Surfer. At the same time, there’s a great emotional story in there, man, where Norrin Radd [Silver Surfer] has to make the choice to save his planet. That would be the one, but I think Fox owns the rights … .”

I would love to see a Marvel make a Silver Surfer movie, and McKay would be a fun choice to take it on if that’s the direction Marvel decides they want to take the project.

What do you all think about Marvel possibly looking to make a Silver Surfer solo film? It’s something I think they’d have to do if they want to bring Galactus into the mix.
