Last year it was rumored that Marvel Studios was planning to introduce the character Miss America, a.k.a. America Chavez, to the MCU at some point in the future. Well, a new report from The Direct is saying that they can confirm Marvel is now in the process of casting the character for director Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The report says that they’ve come across an official Marvel Studios casting grid “stating that the studio is now casting a Puerto Rican actress, ages 12-15 years old, for an upcoming movie. This casting is for the role of America Chavez, AKA Miss America, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

America Chazez is a Latin-American gay immigrant superhero who was a member of the short-lived New Teen Brigade, the Young Avengers, and the Ultimates. She is a tough, no-nonsense hero, who has a genuine desire to help others and do good.

Miss America was created by Joe Casey and Nick Dragotta in 2011 and first appeared in Vengeance #1. Her powers consist of superhuman strength, superhuman speed, flight, invulnerability/superhuman durability, and she can create a star shaped portal to other realities/dimensions with her kicks.

In the comics, America Chavez is right around 18 years old. I imagine Marvel Studios is looking to cast someone younger that can grow with the role over the years as the studio may be headed toward a possible Young Avengers or The Ultimates team-up film.

It’ll be interesting to see what the ended up doing with the character if this news turns out to be true. This next film is going to be crazy epic as it will break open the multiverse in the MCU. It will also tie into the events of both Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki.
