Marvel Revives Classic Marvel Character in SECRET EMPIRE #5
Yeah, someone who died is alive again. Color me surprised. Ok, don't. It looks like Bruce Banner has been revived after a whopping year of being dead. Has it even been that long?
The last time we saw a living Bruce Banner was in Civil War II where he was shot by Hawkeye with a special Hulk killing arrow. What does that even mean? I don't know. But, the world was hit pretty hard by the fact, and Marvel made a big deal by saying things like, "Yeah, Hulk is really dead" and "we even got a new one". Well, he isn't dead anymore. At least according to Secret Empire #5.
At the end of the issue, which saw the reveal of the traitor in resistance, Spoiler: it's Mockingbird, we also saw the reappearance of Bruce Banner in the final couple pages. He doesn't do much. He just sits at a table patiently. But this news is pretty big. I mean big enough, that I didn't title the article "traitor revealed in Secret Empire #5".
What could this mean for the whole of the Marvel Universe? Is Banner upset about the whole Hawkeye killing him thing? I mean technically, he did ask for it. Moreover, why is Banner siding with Hydra Cap on this sorta thing. Hopefully much of this will be revealed in the next issue of Secret Empire.
