Marvel Rumor Says New Hulk Storyline Will Take a Highly Anticipated Dark Turn in Upcoming AVENGERS Films
Fans have been speculating about what will happen in the upcoming Avengers movies, as well as what surprise character we will see join the fight, but a new rumor dives into what things might be different for a character who has been established in the MCU since early days of Phase 1.
Industry insider Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus held a recent Q&A, and he came out and said we could be seeing a change in our Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo.
In the Q&A, user BraveFire asked Perez, “Can you tease us with anything new about Savage Hulk/Bruce Banner in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Doomsday?” Perez responded with, “Hulk is scarier than ever before. He might even kill someone.”
This version of Bruce Banner has ranged from fighting against his angry instincts to embracing his Smart Hulk persona in the last Avengers movies. He did get pretty brutal in Thor: Ragnarok, when he was Hulk full-time and was being used as a fighter in the Gladiator ring, but we haven’t seen him go full-on Savage Hulk yet on Earth or when he’s around his fellow Avengers, so this could be very cool!
When asked, Perez said that things were “still in development” when it came to anything for the Hulk post Secret Wars, and when prompted about potential stand-alone films for the Hulk and Black Panther villain Namor (Tenoch Huerta), he simply said, “not yet.”
Are you hoping to see Hulk in his most brutal form yet? Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner will next be seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
