Marvel Studios Announces Phase 4 at Comic-Con! Here are All The Awesome Details and Logos! FANTASTIC FOUR and BLADE Included!

The big Marvel Studios panel went down at San Diego Comic-Con today and they announced their big Phase 4 plans and fans are going to love what’s coming! Kevin Feige came out on stage to announce these and here’s what he revealed.

Eternals - November 6th, 2020

During the panel it was revealed that The Eternals are a race of immortal aliens who are sent to Earth thousands of years ago by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants. The director, Chloé Zhao, explained, “It’s about this group of incredible immortals, but through their journey, we really get to explore what it means to be human and humanity on our time on this planet.”

The cast includes Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, and Don Lee. Jolie is playing Thena, Hayek is playing Ajax, Lee is playing Gilgamesh, McHugh is playing Sprite, Nanjiani is playing Kingo Henry is playing Phastos, Ridloff is playing Macary, and Madden is playing Ikaris.

The Falcon and The Winter Solider - Fall 2020

This is going to be a part of Marvel Phase 4. Anthony Mackie is coming back to reprise his role in the new series alongside Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes and there was a little teaser shared that revealed Daniel Brühl would be reprising his role of Baron Zemo and it showed him wearing the classic purple mask from the comics.

He appears in the video, says he’s hijacked the panel, and get the attention of Mackie and Stan saying, “Gentlemen, I’ll be seeing you very soon.” He then puts on the purple mask and the video goes haywire. The series will also bring back Emily VanCamp and Sharon Carter.

Chang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings - February 12th, 2021

In regards to this film, Feige said, "It's been a really in-depth search to try to find somebody who will capture this character with all the dimensions that he deserves and it's going pretty well…We found him."

He then revealed that Simu Liu (Taken) will be taking on the title role! Shang-Chi was raised to be a deadly assassin and his life gets complicated when he finds out his father is involved with some nefarious things. So, Shang-Chi sets out on a journey to right his father's wrongs, becoming Marvel's "Master of Kung Fu".

Also if you couldn’t tell by the title, the film will include the real Mandarin! This is something Feige said they’ve been setting up since the first Iron Man.

WandaVision - Spring 2021

This is another event Disney+ series and according to Feige it will be unlike anything we’ve seen before and will be incredibly unique. After they showed the logo he said, "If you thought the logo was strange, wait until you see the show.” It’s said the film is going to go weird, deep, and exciting. Elizabeth Olsen said, “It’s going to get weird, we’re going to get deep. We’re finally going to understand Wanda Maximoff as the Scarlet Witch.”

The series is set after the events of Endgame. Other characters from the MCU will appear in it and it will feature Captain Marvel the young character Monica Rambo, who will be all grown up and played by Teyonah Parris.

Loki - Spring 2021

Tom Hiddleston came out on stage to talk about the Disney+ series saying, “Just about the last thing that happened to him was he got Hulk smashed. So there’s a lot of pyshclogical evolution that is still yet to happen. Kevin has generously showed me what his plans are. It’s one of the most exciting creative opportunities I’ve come across. This is new territory, a new world, new challenges I can’t wait to get started.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - May 7th, 2021

Director Scott Derrickson came out on stage excited to say that this will be Marvel’s first horror movie, and it will be loaded with psychedelic weirdness and villains from other dimensions and worlds. He explains, “He doesn’t fight villains from this Earth.” Derrickson didn’t want to make just “another sequel”, he set out to make “the first scary MCU film,” and he is going to fill it with gothic horror!

Benedict Cumberbatch will once again be back as Strange and he says the film takes “a crazy line into horror,” but it will also incorporate humor. The actor went on to say, “He’ll be facing unexpected things not knowing what’s coming at him.” There will be lots of evil forces trying “to destroy him.”

Oh yeah! Scarlett Which will be in the movie and the film will tie in with the Disney+ series WandaVision!

What If…? - Summer 2021

This Disney+ animated series will bring back all of the main actors from the MCU will be back to reprise their roles in the series. And when I say ever actor, it really is every actor of all the fan favorite characters.

Jeffery Wright was also cast as The Watcher, the narrator of What If…? which will tell alternate Marvel stories. It will explore a pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turn it on its head, leading the audience into crazy cool uncharted territory.

When talking about his character, Wright said, “The Watcher is non-earthly being who observes all things. He’s watching over the multi-verse and occasionally may or may not intervene with the doings of earthlings.”

Hawkeye - Fall 2021

Jeremy Renner showed up in Hall H to introduce the new Disney+ event series and it will also feature Kate Bishop. He will be training Kate Bishop in the series to be a badass warrior. Renner said that Bishop is the “better version” of Hawkeye. No other information on the series was revealed, except for the fact that it will also explore Ronin more.

Thor: Love and Thunder - November 5th, 2021

Taikia Waiti, Chris Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson took the stage to announce this exciting film, which came with a very metal logo! The film will feature Valkyrie on a hunt for a Queen. Thompson said, “That’ll be her first order of business. And then, I don’t know. It’s already been mentioned that Asgard isn’t a place but a people, so she’s got to invest in her people. And hopefully she’ll get some love and thunder.”

It was also announced that that there would be a female Thor and she will be played by Natalie Portman! Yes! Jane Foster will be the new female Thor and Waititi said, “When we were shooting Ragnarok I was reading one storyline by Jason Aaron, the Mighty Thor. And for those of you who know that storyline, it’s incredible and introduced love and thunder and for the first time, female Thor.”

Portman came out on stage to wield the hammer saying, “Feels pretty good. I’ve always had a little hammer in me.” This was a very awesome and cool surprise!

Black Widow - May 1st, 2020

We all knew is was coming and Cate Shortland took the stage with the cast that included Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, David Harbour, Florence Pugh and O.T. Fagbenie. When talking about why she took on this project, the director said, “That’s what drew me to the story – she has so many secrets. We get to understand her past and she gets to put those pieces together and become a whole person.”

Johansson added, “I don’t think I could have played this iteration of Natasha 10 years ago. I get to play her as a fully realized woman in all of her many facets. I am excited for fans to see the flawed side of her. I’m looking to wipe out that red in my ledger.”

We then saw a badass trailer for the movie that featured a pretty epic and brutal fight sequence between Florence Pugh and Johansson. The story is set in Budapest and the main villain has been confirmed to be Taskmaster.

After that Kevin Feige quickly confirmed Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Captain Marvel 2, Fantastic Four, “Mutants”, meaning X-Men, and freakin’ Blade!

The big announcement then came that Mahershala Ali (Green Book, Alita: Battle Angel) had been cast in the role of Blade!

That was the Marvel Panel and it was so freaking incredible! The energy was awesome and I am so excited for the future of Marvel!
