Marvel Studios Casts IN THE HEIGHTS Star Anthony Ramos in IRONHEART
In the Heights and Hamilton star, Anthony Ramos, is joining the MCU as he’s been cast in a key role in Marvel Studios’ Ironheart Disney+ series. He will star alongside Dominique Thorne, who is taking on the role of Riri Williams.
Williams is a 15-year old engineering genius and the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. In the comics, Williams attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she develops her own Iron-Man armor suit. This catches the eye of Tony Stark, who supports her efforts and helps her grow. Obviously, since Stark is dead in the MCU they will have to take the series in a different direction and bring in a new mentor for Williams.
There’s no information on who Ramos is playing in the series. But according to the report, his role “will be similar to how Jonathan Majors was introduced as Kang the Conquer in Loki, where he is expected to not only have a big role in this series but in future Marvel projects as well.” Maybe that means he will be playing a villain in the story?
Marvel Studios previously hired screenwriter Chinaka Hodge to serve as the head writer on the series. Williams is also expected to make her big debut in the MCU in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which comes out in November.
