Marvel Studios Is Looking to Hire a "Big Name" Director for FANTASTIC FOUR

Marvel’s Fantastic Four movie was originally supposed to be directed by Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts, but he stepped away from the film to focus his attention on the Star Wars series he’s developing for Lucasfilm, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

Marvel has to fill that director job, and according to a new report, they are looking to hire a “big name” director to take on the challenge. According to Deadline's Justin Kroll, Feige is looking to bring on an established filmmaker to helm Fantastic Four after his positive experience of working with Sam Raimi on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

One source explained: “Kevin doesn’t want oversee entire shoot and after not having to worry about that with Raimi, he is very game to same outcome with this shoot.”

But, as of right now, even though Fantastic Four is the studio’s top open directing assignment, the studio is unlikely to fill the position "anytime soon as they are not even close to cutting down [the] long list of candidates."

As of right now, no names have surfaced from the “large mix of candidates,” but Feige is said to be "taking a lot of shots at some big names." It will be interesting to learn who Feige is talking to about directing this movie. I’m sure they’ll leak out at some point.

There are no other details regarding Fantastic Four, but chances are we’ll see John Krasinski in the role of Reed Richards. Who you you like to direct Fantastic Four and who would you want to see fill the cast?
