Marvel Studios Is Planning on Bringing the Real Mandarin and the Ten Rings Back to the MCU

When Marvel Studios first launched the MCU with Iron Man it looked like they were going in the direction of building up the Ten Rings and the Mandarin. Then Iron Man 3 rolled around and threw in that twist where they made a the villain an actor named Trevor Slattery.

After Marvel got blowback from the fans from that little stunt, they made a Marvel One-Shot short film called Hail the King, which features Trevor going to jail where he receives a threatening message from the real Mandarin. Then Marvel never really did anything with that. But, it looks like they will now!

During an Ask Me Anything Q&A on Reddit, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was asked if he would ever revisit The Mandarin and the Ten Rings in the MCU and all he said was, “Yes.”

He didn’t offer any other details. We don’t know when or how the the Ten Rings and the real Mandarin will actually show up in the MCU. But it’s extremely interesting to know that they are actually planning something.

I can’t help but think they will eventually be utilized in the one of the Marvel shows coming to Disney+, but we’ll have to wait and see. I’m just a little disappointed that Iron Man won’t be the one coming face to face with the Mandarin because its one of comic books great rivalries.

What do you all think about Marvel Studios planing on utilizing the Mandarin and the Ten Rings in their future plans?
