Marvel Studios is reportedly developing a Halloween Special for Disney+ that will center around the character Werewolf by Night. According to The Wrap, the studio is on the hunt for a Latino actor in his 30s to star in the untitled series.

There are two versions of this character from Marvel Comics. The first is Jack Russell, who first appeared in a 1972 issue of Marvel Spotlight. Jack Russell is a victim of an ancient family curse, “struggled for years with his bestial alter-ego. But over time has conquered his inner demons. Now he fights the dark forces that plague our world. He is an enforcer of justice, an avenger of shadows, and a Werewolf by Night.”

The second version of the character is Jake Gomez, who is 17-years old and “a member of the Hopi Native American tribe whose family has been cursed with lycanthropy.” He “comes in conflict with a nefarious pharmaceutical company exploiting members of the tribe.”

There’s no word on which version of the character that the series will focus on, but with the casting direction they are going, it seems like they will be going with the Jake Gomez version.

It’s said that the show will begin production in early 2022. What do you think about the possibility of seeing a Werewolf by Night Halloween Special from Marvel? You can count me in!
