We already shared a rumor regarding Marvel Studios looking to make a new Punisher series with Jon Bernthal coming back to reprise his role. It was mentioned in that report that Daredevil and Jessica Jones were being considered as well.

Now another report has surfaced from Marvel movie scooper Daniel Ritchman saying that Marvel Studios is looking at developing a soft reboot of Daredevil with Charlie Cox and and Vincent D'Onofrio coming back to take on the roles of Matt Murdock and Kingpin.

The report indicates that the characters would have different backstories for their MCU introduction and that nothing from the Netflix series would be canon. This is similar to what we heard might be happening with The Punisher, that it would be set in an alternate universe of sorts.

There’s no word on if will will see any other characters return from the Netflix series, but it is certainly possible. Also, as you might expect, this show won’t be Disney+ material. If this series happens, it will either go to Hulu or Disney+ Star.

While this is another rumor that I hope turns out to be true, there’s no official confirmation. But, Daniel Ritchman has a solid track record with the reports he shares, so we’ll just have to wait and see if this one actually plays out the way that we are hoping for!
