Marvel Studios Rumored to Be in Development on New Female-Led IRON FIST Project With Danny Rand in Possible Supporting Role
Marvel Studios is rumored to be taking another chance on the character Iron Fist, who we first saw explored on the Netflix series that ran for two seasons in 2017 and 2018. The show was the least favorite of the Netflix Marvel shows that ran during this time, and fans have wondered if we would ever see him revisited. Now, that might be happening, but with a new twist.
At the end of the show’s second season, Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) became the new Iron Fist and Danny Rand (Finn Jones) left New York to find Orson Randall, the man from whom Davos acquired the Iron Fist's powers. Months later, it was shown that Danny had stolen two guns from Randall with which he could form Iron Fists. It was a total cliffhanger, but with Marvel's Netflix shows considered canon, it seems like we could see the the story resolve in some way.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via CBM), Marvel Studios is developing a new Iron Fist project. The plan is supposedly for the new story to put the spotlight on a female lead and there's been at least some talk of this being an animated adaptation.
While Jones returning to the role hasn't been completely ruled out, it sounds like the current idea is for him to make a cameo appearance but not be the main Iron Fist in the MCU.
