Marvel Studios' Victoria Alonso Addresses Inclusivity and LGBTQ+ Representation in the MCU's Future

Victoria Alonso, EVP of Production at Marvel Studios and Executive Producer of Captain Marvel, recently sat down for a Reddit AMA session to talk about, well, anything with the fans who wanted to ask her questions. One Reddit user by the name of scarletwiccan dove right in and asked her the following question:

Hi Victoria! As a fellow member of the LGBTQ+ community, I was wondering how you feel about the addition of LGBTQ+ characters in the future of the MCU? Especially as it’s been confirmed they’re incoming. Thanks for doing this! :)

Alonso responded by saying:

Happy pride month! I would feel honored to have a member of the LGBTQ+ group represented in our films and I hope the future shows that.

The Reddit user wasn’t too happy with the answer, as she was looking for a more definitive answer, and maybe some character details, but still thanked Alonso for responding in any case. Then Reddit user rainmaker2332 gave just a little bit more info to go on, whether it’s true or not, we will have to wait and see, but they seemed pretty sure:

They can't announce it yet but one of the main characters in the Eternals will be LGBT and apparently an existing character is also.

The Reddit fan said she was betting Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, would be the existing character, while other fans also commented and thought maybe Valkyrie as well, or possibly Maria Hill. These aren’t new rumors, as fans have been speculating for a while.

I have also heard people say they thought maybe Bucky could be gay or bisexual, so that’s a possibility as well. I’m sure we will find out all the info soon enough. Who do you think the LGBTQIA+ MCU characters will be?
