Marvel Updates the AVENGERS: ENDGAME Poster to Include Credit for Danai Gurira After Fan Backlash

When it comes to movie posters, I never really look at the people credited on it. I most look at the visual design and style.

Well, some fans do look at who is credited on the poster, and after fans noticed that Danai Gurira didn’t get billing on the Avengers: Endgame poster with the rest of the cast, and there was a backlash. The poster dropped yesterday along with the new trailer.

While her Gurira’s character Okoye was included in the poster, the actress’s name wasn’t included with the rest of the cast. So, Marvel Studios issued a new poster and it came with the caption:

She should have been up there all this time. Check out the official Marvel Studios' #AvengersEndgame poster. @DanaiGurira #WakandaForever

I don’t think Marvel purposely left her name off the poster. I just think a mistake was made and that mistake wasn’t noticed before the first poster went live.

Or the whole thing was the result of contractual negations. There are contracts with actors that state where their names will appear on the poster if they appear on the poster at all. It’s just part of the movie business.

Regardless, Marvel listened to the fans and fixed it.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters April 26.
