MARVEL ZOMBIES TV Spot Pits Undead Captain Marvel Against Ikaris in Bloody Showdown
Marvel Studios has dropped a brand new TV spot for Marvel Zombies, and it’s packed with gruesome new footage from the upcoming animated series. It features a jaw-dropping clash between two undead powerhouses we never thought we’d see go head-to-head: Captain Marvel and Eternals’ Ikaris.
The promo doesn’t just tease that brutal face-off, it also gives fans a glimpse of Phase 4 favorites like Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, and Shang-Chi.
This project has been in the works for a while, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most insane Marvel Animation projects yet. With its TV-MA rating, Marvel Zombies won’t be pulling punches when it comes to gore and horror. There’s even a quick look at “Blade Knight,” a twisted Blade/Moon Knight hybrid, slicing through the chaos.
Don’t expect Brie Larson or Richard Madden to reprise their MCU roles here, but fans can look forward to Iman Vellani’s return as Kamala Khan. The Ms. Marvel star couldn’t be more excited about the project, sharing:
"We've done the whole thing. It was amazing. It was so much fun. And I love—there are a lot of cool characters in the Marvel Zombies show. And Kamala is kind of the center of the show."
Vellani went on to add: "They described it to me, it's like, 'She's basically the Frodo of the story.' And I was like, 'That's amazing.' I get to interact and meet all these people along her journey. And, yes, they're only the voices, and I don't get to hear their voices in real-time."
She finished by saying: "But just, it's my fantasies, right? Like, knowing Kamala is going to interact with some really cool people, even if it's just animation, is so special in a lot of ways."
The series is set after Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fall victim to a devastating zombie plague. A ragtag band of survivors discovers a potential solution to ending the undead scourge, embarking on a dangerous journey across a wasteland version of the MCU to save what’s left of their world.
The voice cast also includes Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), David Harbour (Red Guardian), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Awkwafina (Katy), Hailee Steinfeld (Kate Bishop), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), Randall Park (Jimmy Woo), Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Dominique Thorne (Ironheart), among others.
Marvel Zombies was developed by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells, with executive producers Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Bryan Andrews, and Zeb Wells.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see the undead mayhem. Marvel Zombies shambles onto Disney+ on September 24 with a four-episode run.
