Marvel's A.K.A. JESSICA JONES Adds Three More Cast Members
As the premiere date for Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil approaches (all episodes in the first season are available on April 10th), the studio's next TV project, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, is building up its cast. We know that Krysten Ritter will star as the title character, Mike Colter is playing Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor will play Jones' best friend, and David Tennant is playing the villainous Killgrave, and now THR brings word of three new names who have been added to the production.
The Originals actress Eka Darville, The Kings of Summer love interest Erin Moriarty, and All Saints and Once Upon A Time alum Wil Traval have signed on to join the Netflix series.
Darville will play Malcolm, a neighbor of Jessica’s whose life will cross with the private detective's in a surprising way. Moriarty will play Hope, a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations, Jessica's business. Traval is playing a by-the-book New York Police Department officer.
Those of you who have read Alias, the comic on which A.K.A. Jessica Jones is based, might have a better sense of who these characters are than the rest of us, but my initial reaction to this news is that I'm really glad to see Erin Moriarty get some work on a high-profile show because she was fantastic in The Kings of Summer. We'll keep you posted with more on A.K.A. Jessica Jones as we get closer to that show's debut, which will happen at an undisclosed date later this year.
