MARVEL'S AVENGERS Confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X

Square Enix is hard at work finalizing Marvel’s Avengers to release this September. Well, they’ve recently confirmed that the anticipated title will be available on next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. In addition, if you purchase the game for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll be able to upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost. The trick is that you can only move from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X. It looks like you can’t cross that company divide. Another plus is that there will be cross-gen play so all PlayStation players can play together and Xbox players can play together.

When it comes to running the game on PS5, Square Enix released:

Featuring extremely fast load times, boosted resolution and fidelity, improved texturing and armor destruction, ray tracing, and more – Marvel’s Avengers will look and play great on next-gen systems. The PlayStation®5 experience will be seamless and dynamic, fully utilizing the ultra-high speed SSD, the PS5 DualSense advanced haptics, and immersive spatial audio. To fully customize their visual experience, PS5 will also provide players with their choice of Enhanced Graphics Mode or High Framerate mode.

Marvel’s Avengers will launch on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One on September 4. It will then be available on PS5 at launch and I assume Xbox Series X at launch.
