Marvel's BLACK PANTHER Animated Series Will Be The Most Important Animated MCU Show Yet
While many of the Marvel animated shows have been fun to watch, none of them have had any kind of real important impact on the events of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Well, it sounds like that is going to change with the Black Panther animated series, Eyes of Wakanda, which is said to be the most singularly important animated show to the MCU to date.
While a guest on the Official Marvel Podcast, the head of streaming, television, and animation for Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum shared some insight on the series.
Winderbaum said: “Eyes of Wakanda, more than any other show, we’re doing in animation, ties directly into the MCU. This is a story about Wakandan history ... It’s both about the history of Wakanda, but it also expands into the greater MCU at different time periods. So if you’re a fan of the movies, I think this show’s going to be a real treat.”
The series follows previous Black Panthers and Dora Milaje members as they are tracking down vibranium artifacts throughout Wakandan history. When previously talking about the series, Winderbaum said:
"We're exploring so many amazing avenues on the animated side. Eyes of Wakanda, more than any other show, fits right into our sacred MCU timeline continuity. [Black Panther director Ryan Coogler] is a producer on it, Todd Harris is one of our long-time storyboard artists who directs it.
“It's about Wakandan history and mythology, and it's really cool. It looks amazing. And it feels like, 'Okay I'm getting an animated look into the MCU.'"
Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is producing the show and it’s being run by Todd Harris, a former Marvel storyboard artist.
I’m curious to see how this project turns out.
