Marvel's BLACK WIDOW Will Feature an Even Younger Version of Natasha Romanoff
Sunday night was the biggest night of the year in Hollywood, with The Oscars taking place and films old and new being celebrated and buzzed about. One of the most exciting films coming out this year is Black Widow, as it kicks off a new phase in the MCU and answers some long-awaited questions about the beloved character Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson.
We knew this would be a prequel that would address the time between the Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War story lines. But we have be taking an even deeper dive into the past of our Black Widow, according to the hair and makeup team for the film. On the red carpet on Sunday, the guys opened up about the work they did with the actresses (Johansson and Florence Pugh) in the roles, and talked about how the look of the characters was different from The Avengers films, saying:
“Well we're going back in time to when they were much younger. And we have actors playing even younger than they are, the same characters type of thing. And we're in different countries... well, there's all sorts of in it. You can see some of it in the trailer that's out now.”
So that’s pretty cool. It always seemed like there was so much we didn’t know about Natasha, and now those questions will be answered as we get a full background on the late, great femme fatale. Black Widow hits theaters on May 1, 2020. Are you getting excited?
