Marvel's BLADE Script Will Get a Complete Rewrite by MOON KNIGHT Writer After Director Exits
Last week, we reported that Marvel’s Blade director, Bassam Tariq, exited the project only a couple of months before the film was supposed to start production. There’s no official word on why he gave up the director’s chair, but Tariq is going to continue to stay on as executive producer on the project.
Now we have word that while the project is looking for a new director, Marvel is also looking to get a new writer on board as well. According to TheDirect, Moon Knight writer Beau DeMayo has been tapped to reportedly rewrite the whole script, taking over Stacy Osei-Kuffour’s previous work on the project.
The film was announced by Marvel head Kevin Feige at San Diego Comic-Con back in 2019 before the studio shut down, pre-pandemic. Mahershala Ali is set to star, playing the title role alongside co-stars Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre.
The movie was supposed to be released on November 3rd, 2023, but due to all this upheaval, we will probably see it get pushed back. Who are you hoping takes over as director?
