Marvel's Classic 90's X-Men To Be Included in MARVEL FUTURE FIGHT; Watch the Trailer

Marvel Future Fight is a phone game made by Netmarble in which players use Marvel characters to fight minions and bosses on a small map. Each character has access to different unique moves as well as just regular, you know, punching. It's been a very popular game for about 2 years and has yet to include any of Marvel's X-Men characters. Until now.

NetMarble just recently announced that the newest update would include the classic 90's X-men, such as Cyclops, Rogue, Beast, Phoenix, Wolverine, Storm, and Magneto as well as missions where you face Magneto. This is just the beginning! Netmarble has said they intend to introduce new X-Men in the future.

So why is this such big news? Games introduce new characters and things all the time. Except for the last 2 years, Marvel has been very careful on not using any properties belonging to them cinematically in their video games with very few exceptions. Most notably is the recent announcement of Marvel Vs Capcom's newest installment leaving out any mutants, for the time being, upsetting many. But could this be a sign of Marvel starting to loosen their grip on their game licensing? Could Marvel be slowly allowing the X-Men to return to playing a role in the video game universe? In the comic universe, they are also making a comeback and playing a larger role in multiple comic stories. Also, some games including Avenger's Academy have teased a possible inclusion of mutants for the future.

Here's hoping that this is just a taste of what's to come. I've missed seeing the X-men and Fantastic Four interacting in games alongside other Marvel characters. I would love to see more games with all these characters in them and not just selected ones. A world where all of Marvel are friends. Check out the trailer below.
