Marvel's GHOST RIDER Series is Not Moving Forward at Hulu

A couple of days ago a rumor hit that Kevin Feige wanted to introduce Ghost Rider into the MCU. I don’t know if this is just a coincidence, but today the Ghost Rider that was being developed by Marvel TV for Hulu is no longer moving forward. According to Deadline, Hulu, who is Disney owned, opted not to proceed with it.

According to the report, “Hulu and the Ghost Rider team had reached a creative impasse which could not be resolved, leading to the streamer’s decision not to move forward with the series.” But, Marvel’s other supernatural series, Helstrom, is still on track and moving forward.

There’s no word on if the Ghost Rider series will be shopped around to other networks, but maybe this is just a sign that the character belongs on the big screen. While I was curious to see what this series had to offer, I’m fine with it not happening.

Executive producer Stephen Lightfoot was going to serve as showrunner, with Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb producing.

If you were excited about the series, don’t worry there are plenty of other Marvel projects in development at Hulu including Marvel’s Runaways, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K, Marvel’s Hit-Monkey, Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show and Marvel’s Howard The Duck, and Marvel’s The Offenders.

What do you think about Hulu deciding to jump ship on Ghost Rider?
