Marvel's HAWKEYE Series Will Reportedly Include The Villain Clown and There's an Actor They Want To Cast
A new report regarding Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye series has surfaced and it involves the MCU debut of the villain Kazimierz Kazimierczak a.k.a. Clown.
If this is true, the upcoming Disney+ series will be inspired by Matt Fraction’s run on Hawkeye. Clown played a major role in that story. He actually stabs Clint in his ears with arrows, which obviously causes Hawkeye to go deaf. This would be the second time that Hawkeye would be deaf. Hawkeye didn’t have hearing for most of the 80s and 90s prior to being reborn in the Franklinverse during Heroes Reborn.
It has been rumored that Echo would be appearing in Hawkeye, which means they’re most likely going to tell a version of the story where Clint loses his hearing. Bringing Clown into the mix supports that theory.
The news comes from MCU Cosmic, which also reports that Marvel already has an actor in mind to take on the role of Clown, but the report won’t name him “because it’s not close to being final.” However, the report teases, the person is “probably best known for playing a clown.”
So, I guess you can start thinking of every actor between their 20s and 30s that is best known for playing a clown. I think it’s pretty obvious to me, though, that they want to get Bill Skarsgard in the role. He played Pennywise The Clown in the IT films. He would definitely fit the role!
Marvel recently hired Troop Zero directors, Bert and Bertie a.k.a. Amber Finlayson (Bert) and Katie Ellwood (Bertie), and Saturday Night Live and Comrade Detective director Rhys Thomas, to helm some episodes of its upcoming Disney+ Hawkeye series.
Jeremy Renner is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton and Kate Bishop will also play a major role in the series. Bumblebee actress Hailee Steinfeld is rumored to have actually signed on to play Bishop, but that has yet to be confirmed.
The series was set to be released in fall 2021 on Disney+ as part of Marvel’s Phase Four round of releases. All of the Marvel shows that are being produced will tie directly into the MCU movies, and they are being produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Mad Men scribe Jonathan Igla is writing the series.
