Marvel's Kevin Feige is Eager To Get His Hands on the X-MEN Universe
As you all know, Disney is very close to closing a deal to buy up all of the film properties of FOX. When that happens, Marvel will immediately retain the rights to all of the characters in the X-Men and Fantastic Four universe. Fans have been wanting to see these characters crossover with Marvel Studios' MCU for years and now it looks like it's actually going to happen!
For those of you who are wondering what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is thinking about all this, as you might imagine, he's very eager to get his hands on these properties. This comes from a recent report from Deadline:
Marvel’s Kevin Feige has an almost unblemished track record for success in superhero movies at Disney, and he lent his magic to resuscitating Spider-Man in partnership with Sony. He’s said to be eager to get his hands on the X-Men universe — Fox has Deadpool 2, New Mutants, Dark Phoenix, Gambit, X-Force and the James Franco-starrer Multiple Man all on the assembly line — and cross-pollinate the rich swarm of characters with the existing Marvel franchise heroes who show up in each other’s films. Feige’s division is responsible for four of the 15 top grossing films of all time, worldwide.
You can bet your ass that Kevin Feige is going to take these new characters and run with them. This next phase of the MCU is certainly going to be extremely different and interesting. We know that a lot of the next phase is going to take place in the cosmos because James Gunn has said that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is going to play a big role in setting the stage for the next phase. It will set up decades of new Marvel movies and characters and I'm so excited that the Fantastic Four and the X-Men will have the opportunity to be a part of that!
We have no idea what ideas Kevin Feige has for these characters, but we know that he's making plans! What are you hoping to see from all this?
