Marvel's LOKI Series Coming To Disney+ Next Year and Richard E. Grant Joins The Cast
Disney Chairman Bob Iger has confirmed that Marvel’s Loki series will premiere on Disney+ next year in 2021. He didn’t give us a specific month, but we do know it will debut early in the year.
It has also been reported that Richard E. Grant (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) has joined the cast. There’s no word on who he will be playing in the series, but this won’t be his first role in a Marvel movie. He previously played this villainous mutant-cloning scientist Dr. Rice in Logan.
Loki follows the adventures of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) after having escaped with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. According to reports, he will be traveling through different periods of time while affecting some important moments of history. It also looks like he will be hunted down by the Time Variance Authority, who are basically time cops that patrol the timeline and take down criminals abusing the stream.
The show will also tie in with the series WandaVision in some way as well as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Kate Herron will direct the series, while Michael Waldron is on board as head writer. The show will also feature Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino in undisclosed roles.
