Marvel's LOKI Series Will Tie Into DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

It looks like WandaVision isn’t the only Marvel Disney+ series that is going to tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to Kevin Feige, the Loki series will also tie into the film! Feige shared the news for a recent report that Bloomberg put out. That report says:

He declines to discuss the budget for the shows—including reports Disney is spending as much as $25 million per episode on some Marvel shows, more than HBO is believed to have spent during the final season of Game of Thrones. He does drop one little morsel, though. If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription, because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch will be a key character in that movie, and Feige points out that the Loki series will tie in, too. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before,” he says. “But it does.”

So, it looks like a Disney+ subscription is going to be a must-have for fans if you are going to want to follow exactly what is going on in the Marvel films. I’m actually fine with this concept, I love that all of these stories on the big screen and the small screen are going to tie in and connect with each other.

The report also reveals that Kevin Feige first pitched some of these shows to the cast at the Avengers: Infinity War premiere. Also, Jeremy Renner was originally signed on to star in his own Hawkeye movie, but when Disney+ came around Feige wanted to take Hawkeye’s story arc that route instead. When he approached Renner about the change, the actor was all for it. Feige explained, “He totally got it and said, ‘Let’s do it.’”

When previously talking about the future plans of Marvel and Disney+, Feige said, “[Characters will] be changing, evolving, growing in those event series and then those changes will be reflected in their next film appearances…. These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way. It’s a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore.”

There are no details on how exactly Loki will connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but I can’t wait to find out! How do you think it will play out?

Hawkeye and Loki are slated to arrive sometime in 2020 with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness being released in theaters on May 7, 2021.
