Marvel's First Wave of Films Will Be Referred To as THE INFINITY SAGA
Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of a 22 movie saga that all started in 2008 with a little film called Iron Man. It’s been one hell of an entertaining and exciting journey and it’s all about to come to an end and launch a whole new saga of MCU films.
According to Empire, Marvel president Kevin Feige revealed that the first 22 film saga that Marvel has given us will be referred to as The Infinity Saga. When Phases 1, 2, and 3 will be released as a complete box set, that’s what it will be called.
When talking about bringing an end to a series of Marvel films, Feige said:
"We wanted to bring to a conclusion a series of movies in a way that had never been done before. Harry Potter had an ending because there were only so many books. Lord of the Rings too. But we thought, 22 movies in, wouldn't it be fun to bring some finality to the storyline?"
I love that they are doing this. What they accomplished is incredible. It’s pretty amazing that they were actually able to pull it off! So many other studios have tried and failed to do what Marvel Studios has done.
Calling it The Infinity Saga seems like a fitting name for it. It’ll be fun to see what they end up calling the next wave of films and see what films end up filling the next saga!
