Marvel's PREDATOR VERSUS WOLVERINE Comic Pays Tribute To Original PREDATOR Movie

In case you didn’t know, there’s a fun comic from Marvel out there right now titled Predator Versus Wolverine, and it’s currently halfway through its four-episode run.

The story sees Wolverine and a young Predator cross paths in Alaska in 1900 and strike up a feud. The description reads: “THE THRILL IS THE KILL! The bloodthirsty saga you've been waiting for! Wolverine has lived one of the longest and most storied lives in Marvel Comics history. Now witness the untold greatest battles of Logan's life - against a Predator! One Yautja seeks the greatest prey in existence - and finds it in Weapon X. From the blood-ridden snows of the Canadian wilderness to the sword-slinging streets of Madripor, Wolverine and a Predator break everything in their paths on their way to the ultimate victory…or glorious death. Superstar writer Benjamin Percy brings the bloodiest hunters in all pop culture to their knees!”

The first issue comes to an end with Wolverine seemingly beating Predator in an epic fight and he left the Predator for dead. Little did Wolverine know, the Predator survived and in the second issue, he comes after him.

Issue two is set several years later in South America and Wolverine is a member of Team X, which includes mutants such as Sabretooth and Maverick, along with newcomers Jackson and Kruel. They are on a mission to down a guerrilla force group plotting a coup. But, on their mission they find themselves facing off with a squad of Predators.

The whole thing is very reminiscent of director John McTiernan's movie, which saw Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch lead a team of badasses into the South American jungle on a rescue mission, and that team finds themselves being hunted for sport by a Predator.

There’s even a panel in the story that features Sabretooth maniacally unloading his minigun, just like Mac (Bill Duke) did in the original movie.

I won’t get into any details of the story, but if you enjoy reading comics or are a fan of Wolverine and Predator, this comic is worth reading! This needs to be a movie!
