Marvel's RUNAWAYS Gets a New Full Trailer and it Actually Looks Like a Solid Series
Hulu has released the first full trailer for their upcoming Marvel series Runaways and I actually like what I'm seeing from! It looks like it could be a great series. The new trailer is packed full of new footage that offers us more insight into the story and the characters. The trailer shows us what the villainous Pride parents will be engaged in and it teases the powers of their kids.
It shows Molly (Allegra Acosta) summon her super strength, Karolina (Virginia Gardner) chaging into her Majesdanian form, Chase (Gregg Sulkin) in action with his fistigons, and Nico (Lyrica Okano) summoning the Staff of One. It's also fun to see Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Spike actor James Marsters in the trailer.
Runaways is based on the comic created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona and this is the brief plot summary of the series:
Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? “Marvel’s Runaways” is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe–their parents.
The parents are part of a criminal organization known as The Pride, which is "a group which hosts an annual "charity" gathering that serves as a meeting place for nefarious time-travelers, wizards, mad scientists, aliens, and mutants." Apparently they also have to make human sacrafices.
The series also stars Rhenzy Feliz (Teen Wolf, Casual) as Alex Wilder, Lyrica Okano (The Affair, Unforgettable) as Nico Minoru–tough, Ariela Barer (New Girl, One Day at a Time) as Gert Yorkes, and Julian McMahon Jonah, a mysterious figure who plays an important role in the children's rebellion against their parents.
The series is being developed by The O.C. and Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. They will executive produce alongside Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
Marvel’s Runaways premieres on Hulu on November 21st.
