Marvel's RUNAWAYS Season 2 Premiere Date Announced, Synopsis Released, and MCU Connection Teased
I thought the first season of Marvel's Runaways was a great and solid season. I like the characters they set up and the direction of the story and I can't wait to see where things end up going in Season 2.
It's been several months since Season 1 ended and now Hulu has finally given Season 2 a premiere date of December 21st, 2018. So we won't have to wait much longer. We also have a new synopsis to share that confirms all the teenage superhero characters will be on the run and they will be doing everything they can to stop PRIDE.
The Runaways have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize that, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down PRIDE once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile PRIDE is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.
TV Line is reporting the series will pick up within hours of the first season’s finale. The heroes are desperately trying to figure out what to do next. The group will also discover the classic deserted hostel hideout, which becomes their primary base of operations.
Showrunner Stephanie Savage explains that the show’s take on the hostel will be more of a luxurious mansion that was swallowed up by some kind of natural disaster. She also hinted that the latter half of the second season will feature the show’s "first real breadcrumb that connects us to the MCU, in some way."
I'm curious to see if Runaways actually ends up crossing over with Cloak & Dagger. There's been a lot of rumor and speculation about that but nothing has been officially announced on that. It's not too hard to think that while teen heroes are on the run that they could find themselves in New Orleans, crossing paths with Tandy and Tyrone.
The entire second season of Runaways Season 2, which consists of 13-episodes, will be released on Hulu at once so that fans can binge through it if they want.
