MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN 2 Gameplay Video, Release Date, New Details, and Venom is Not Eddie Brock

Insomniac Games has released a cool new gameplay video for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 featuring Venom in action. They also shared some new details on what the game will entail and announced that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 video game will be released on October 20, 2023, and it’ll be a PS5 new-gen exclusive. You won’t have to wait long to drop your hard-earned cash on the game as you will be able to pre-order the game this month on June 16th.

It was also revealed that a few different versions of the game will be available for purchase, with the standard edition going for $69.99 (US) MSRP. There’s also a Digital Deluxe Edition, which will cost $10 more, and will include the game, all pre-order incentives, 10 unique suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and 2 additional skill points.

There’s also a Collector’s Edition that will be available that will cost $229.99, and that can be pre-ordered through PlayStation Direct starting at 10:00 a.m. local time on June 16. It includes the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, a Steelbook case, and a 19″ statue of Venom battling both Peter and Miles in their Spider-Man costumes.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the sequel to awesome 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man and 2020’s Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The latest installment of the franchise will feature a variety of famous Spider-Man villains, including Kraven the Hunter and Venom, who will be voiced by Candyman star Tony Todd. It was also revealed that this version of Venom is not Eddie Brock.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players will get to experience Marvel’s New York as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. As you saw in the PlayStation Showcase last month – the main storyline of the game will have you take control of both Spider-Men at different points of the campaign. In the open world, you will be able to switch nearly instantly between them as you explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world exclusive to each of them.

The gameplay video shows off some of the Symbiote’s powerful new abilities while teasing that Peter is becoming more aggressive as a result of its influence. I’ve got three promo videos for the game that you can watch below!
