Marvel's TIGRA & DAZZLER SHOW Animated Series Is Getting a New Creative Team and Complete Overhaul
Marvel is making some big changes to its upcoming Hulu animated series Tigra & Dazzler Show. Kevin Feige, who is overseeing all of the Marvel projects now, obviously isn’t happy with the direction of the series. THR is reporting that showrunner Erica Rivinoja (Girls Trip, The Addams Family) and the show’s entire writing staff have been let go from the series following creative differences with Marvel.
Rivinoja and her team had completed multiple scripts and outlines for other episodes, and they were 15 weeks into a planned 20-week production cycle when this all went down. Production on the show has now been put on pause until Marvel can figure out how they want to proceed.
The series will end up getting a complete overhaul and as of right now Marvel is on the hunt for a new showrunner who will build a new writing team. The report says that all of the work Rivinoja and her staff had completed is being thrown out.
Tigra & Dazzler is “a story about two woke superheroes and best friends, Tigra and Dazzler, as they fight for recognition among powered people who make up the 8 million stories in L.A.”
The Tigra & Dazzler Show is one of four animated shows that Marvel and Hulu are teaming up on. Production on M.O.D.O.K., Hit-Monkey, Howard the Duck are all currently on track. Tigra & Dazzler was supposed to be the third show in this series to be released.
All of the characters from these shows will lead up to an animated team-up special called The Offenders. Jeph Loeb is attached as an executive producer on all of Hulu's Marvel animated shows. But with Feige overseeing everything, who knows how much control Loeb really has over them.
That talented people who are currently working on these projects include Kevin Smith, Patton Oswalt, Chelsea Handler, Dave Willis, and more.
