Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins Will Smith in Director Ang Lee's GEMINI MAN
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) will take on the lead female lead role in director Ang Lee's Gemini Man opposite Will Smith. This film project has been in development for 20 years! It was originally set up at Disney in 1997 with Tony Scott attached to direct, but the movie ended up being put on hold because the VFX technology wasn't available at the time to pull off the things they needed to pull off.
The story focuses on "an aging assassin who tried to get out of the business but finds himself in the ultimate battle: fighting his own clone who is 25 years younger than him and at the peak of his abilities."
Winstead is a fantastic actress and one of my favorites working in Hollywood today. It's great to see that she's landed a role in such a high profile film project. According to Variety, Clive Owen (The Knick) is also in talks to play the villain in the story, which is another great talent choice.
There's an incredibly talented team of individuals attached to this project so there's a good chance that it's going to turn out awesome. Paramount Pictures will release the film on October 4th, 2019
