MASS EFFECT TV Series in Development at Amazon MGM Studios with FAST & FURIOUS 9 Writer
A Mass Effect TV series is in development at Amazon MGM Studios, and Daniel Casey (Fast & Furious 9, 10 Cloverfield Lane) is set to write and executive produce the adaptation.
Amazon picked up the rights to the sci-fi video game over three years ago, and they are finally ready to move forward with it.
Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke previously said at the time: “You will see us continuing to invest in fantasy genre of all kinds, we have a genre-focused team on the ground in Studios who work tirelessly with our creative partners on those slates, and you can look forward to more.”
Mass Effect was created by Casey Hudson, Drew Karpyshyn, and Preston Watamaniuk. It’s a RPG developed by BioWare, set in a distant future where humanity has joined a vast interstellar community of alien civilizations.
The story follows Commander Shepard, a skilled human soldier tasked with defending the galaxy from an ancient threat: the Reapers, a race of powerful, sentient machines that periodically wipe out advanced civilizations.
In the game, as Shepard, players make critical choices that shape alliances, political conflicts, and the fate of entire species.
Mass Effect is a richly developed universe that explores a vast galaxy filled with interesting lore.
The series will be produced by Ari Arad, Karim Zreik, and EA’s Michael Gamble. Plot details for the project details are being kept under wraps, but this could be an awesome project if they find the right creative team to bring it to life.
