MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Drops New Beast Man Battle Footage at CinemaCon and It Looks Like Pure Fun

Amazon MGM just gave fans another taste of Masters of the Universe at CinemaCon, and it’s exactly the kind of wild, energetic preview you’d hope for from this vibrant franchise.

Last year’s presentation already turned heads with a first look at those animation-inspired costumes, and that reveal kicked off a steady climb in excitement. Since then, trailers and even a new toyline have kept the momentum going, and now there’s fresh footage that adds even more fuel to the fire of fun.

This new footage opens with Prince Adam on Earth, sitting in the back of a police car after getting arrested. His crime? Trying to steal the Power Sword from a collectibles shop. He insists the sword belongs to him, which obviously doesn’t help his case.

Things escalate quickly from there. While the police transport Adam across an overpass, Beast Man crashes the moment in full destructive glory, tearing into the police car and going straight for Adam. It’s chaotic, loud, and exactly the kind of larger-than-life action you’d want from this character.

Then Teela enters the scene. She steps in just in time to save Adam, and there’s a quick reunion. They haven’t seen each other since they were kids, which adds a bit of emotion to the chaos. After a brief exchange, Teela delivers the line that shifts everything: “Ready to go home?”

From there, the footage transitions into an extended version of the previously released trailer, with some new shots sprinkled in.

What really stands out is how confident this movie feels in embracing what made the original series so memorable. It leans into that colorful, slightly over-the-top tone without holding back.

This movie looks like a ton of fun and fully embraces the ridiculous greatness of the original cartoon. There is so much great stuff packed into what we’ve seen so far. The visual style pops, the classic characters all look awesome in live-action, and the whole thing carries an energy that’s hard not to get excited about. This is going to be a blast!

The cast is also a huge part of why this feels like it could really land. Nicholas Galitzine steps into the role of He-Man, going up against Jared Leto as Skeletor. They’re backed by a lineup that includes Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Camila Mendes as Teela, Kristen Wiig as Roboto, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.

And that’s just scratching the surface. The expanded roster pulls in plenty of fan-favorite characters like Fisto, Trap Jaw, Mekaneck, Goat Man, Ram-Man, and Tri-Klops, which makes this feel like a full-on dive into the world rather than a scaled-back introduction.

One notable absence from the new footage is Orko. He’s still the big question mark. Maybe he shows up as a surprise, or maybe he’s being saved for later if this turns into a larger series of films. I’ve heard he pops up in a post-credits scene, but we’ll see.

There’s a massive universe to explore, and if this first movie lands, there’s no shortage of stories to tell. It’s been nearly 40 years since the 1987 film brought Masters of the Universe to theaters, and this film actually going to give us an awesome He-Man movie that fans of the original cartoon will enjoy.

Masters of the Universe hits theaters on June 5, 2026.
