MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Trailer Description Teases He-Man’s Big Screen Debut

A description of the first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie has surfaced online, and it sounds like maybe fans of the classic animated series will like what they see.

The film wrapped principal photography earlier this year and is now deep in post-production, so while we might be waiting a bit longer for an official release, a rough cut of the teaser has reportedly leaked through HeMania.com. The footage isn’t polished, but it gives a strong sense of the direction this long-awaited adaptation is taking.

According to the description, the teaser wastes no time in introducing key characters. The motion-capture performer spotted in set photos with Nicholas Galitzine (Prince Adam) and Camila Mendes (Teela) was apparently portraying none other than Cringer, Adam’s loyal green tiger companion.

The description shared online reads:

"It was an early cut of the trailer, with serval shots showing green screen still and a bit difficult to see due to the security watermarks, but it was overall good. It was about 75% WIP. The cut was quite rough, so it was by no means polished. But the characters I saw all looked good.

“It opens with Prince Adam talking to a friend on Earth and they are confused because Cringer is there and they discuss the green tiger. From there it goes to Prince Adam going to his home world and learning about his lineage from who I think is the sorceress, but it was kind of hard to see because of the watermarks.

“After that it bounces around a bit and you see Prince Adam talking to a few of people from Eternia. There was a brief glimpse of Skeletor and who I think was Evil-Lyn. The trailer does show Prince Adam raising the sword and yelling 'I HAVE THE POWER' and you see the transformation. A few quick scenes of him fighting as He-Man then it ends."

The source also noted that Skeletor’s design is faithful to his animated counterpart and teased that the movie will serve as a “solid origin story” for He-Man.

The cast includes Jared Leto as Skeletor, while Idris Elba plays Man-At-Arms, Morena Baccarin appears as The Sorceress, with James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley as King Randor and Queen Marlena.

Alison Brie joins the lineup as Evil-Lyn, Skeletor’s trusted ally. On the villain front, Sam C. Wilson (House of the Dragon) will play Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah (The Beekeeper) portrays Tri-Klops, and Jon Xue Zhang (Eternals) suits up as Ram-Man.

Amazon/MGM Studios has handed the reins to Bumblebee director Travis Knight, with Chris Butler reworking the script from an earlier draft by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings).

The story reimagines Prince Adam as a child who crash-lands on Earth after being separated from his Power Sword, the mystical weapon linking him to Eternia. Nearly two decades later, Adam finds the sword and is pulled back to his homeworld where he must uncover his destiny, embrace the power within, and stand against Skeletor to save Eternia.

After years of development struggles, Masters of the Universe is finally coming, and I hope it turns out to be a good and faithful take on the mythology.

Masters of the Universe hits theaters on June 5, 2026.
