Matt Reeves and Netflix Team Up For an Adaptation of The Sci-Fi Thriller WAY STATION

The Batman director Matt Reeves is teaming up with Netflix for a new sci-fi thriller film project called Way Station, which is based on the 1963 Hugo Award-Winning novel by Clifford D. Simak. The story is about an immortal war veteran who is humanity’s only link to alien life.

This is the logline that Netflix shared for the film:

For more than 100 years Enoch Wallace has been the keeper of a Way Station on Earth for intergalactic alien travelers as they teleport across the universe. But the gifts of knowledge and immortality that his intergalactic guests have bestowed upon him are proving to be a nightmarish burden, for they have opened Enoch’s eyes to humanity’s impending destruction. Still, one final hope remains for the human race.

This is actually a really great story and it could make for a great film, especially with Reeves involved. I doubt that Reeves will direct, but he’s sure to have a heavy hand in developing the story and planing out the film. Hopefully he brings on a solid team of creative talent.

There are no other details to share, but I’ll be looking forward to seeing how this project comes together.
