Matt Reeves Confirms Little Change to THE BATMAN: PART II Costume

When Matt Reeves recently announced that the highly anticipated film The Batman: Part II had been pushed back once again, this time to 2028, he also shared a brief glimpse of Robert Pattinson suited up as Gotham's Dark Knight.

While most fans were focused on finally seeing Batman back in action, a few viewers noticed something a little different about the costume. Specifically, Batman's ears.

One fan took to Xto point out that the cowl appeared to feature slightly longer ears than the version seen in the first film. It might seem like an incredibly small adjustment, but Reeves confirmed the observation with a simple reply that immediately caught fans' attention:

"You are not crazy."

So yes, the costume has been tweaked, even if it's only by a few inches at the top of the cowl. It's the kind of tiny design change most moviegoers would probably miss, but there are fans who who happen to notice these kinds of things.

Outside of the updated costume, anticipation for The Batman: Part II continues to grow despite the lengthy wait. Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne alongside Andy Serkis as Alfred, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb, better known as the Penguin, and Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon.

The sequel will also introduce several new faces, including Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, and Charles Dance.

Farrell has already shared his enthusiasm for Reeves' latest script, and his comments only add to the excitement surrounding the sequel.

"I just think Matt Reeves is brilliant and he wrote, not only tonally, a really kind of dark and at times terrifying piece, and not only psychologically weighty and nuanced, but really feeling. It's a really...

“There's moments in it. It's full of feeling. I just think he wrote kind of a contemporary genre masterpiece, really. I'm only in two scenes, which is great because it means I can enjoy the rest of the film. Honestly, man, it's so good. I'm so excited about it."

Farrell's mention that he's only appearing in two scenes is an interesting reveal on its own, suggesting that Oz Cobb may have a much smaller role this time around than he did in the first film. Even so, his excitement over Reeves' script speaks volumes.

The Batman 2 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.
