Matt Smith May Lead Harry Potter Spin-Off FANTASTIC BEASTS

It's been three months since we heard anything new on the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. What we know so far is that it will be at the very least a trilogy but could be many more films than that. Harry Potter alum David Yates is directing, and J.K. Rowling is writing the script, which everyone is raving about.

According to U.K. paper The Sun, Matt Smith, the actor best know for playing The Doctor on Doctor Who, has been "tipped for the role" of Newt Scamander, the "magizooligist." Even so much as to call him the "favorite." Smith is brilliant actor who would fit perfectly into the Harry Potter universe. In this run as The Doctor he played the character with just a depth of wiley endearment and true cleverness. Fantastic Beasts: "You had my curiosity… but now you have my attention." I really hope this turns out to be true.
