Matthew Broderick Is Set to Star in AMERICAN CRIME STORY: KATRINA

Matthew Broderick is joining the Ryan Murphy party and is set to star in the next installment of the American Crime Story anthology series. The first season of the show focused on the trial of O.J. Simpson. Season two is called American Crime Story: Katrina and will focus on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

According to THR, "Broderick will star as Federal Emergency Management Agency director Michael D. Brown, who was in charge of the federal disaster response to Hurricane Katrina." The actor will join Annette Bening, who was previously cast in the anthology, along with Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson, and Cuba Gooding Jr., all of whom starred in The People v. O.J. Simpson.

I've been a fan of Broderick ever since I first saw him in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. He's done a hell of a lot since then and it's great to see that he'll be the American Crime Story series.

Katrina won't premiere until 2018. Murphy is also developing a third and fourth installment of franchise. One will tackle the 1997 murder of Gianni Versace, which is set to star Darren Criss and Edgar Ramirez, and the other is going to focus on the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
