Matthew McConaughey Is Not Officially Attached to YELLOWSTONE Spinoff, but Now Michelle Pfeiffer Is in Talks
We’ve been hearing for quite some time that Matthew McConaughey is attached to star in the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff that’s being developed that will continue the story of the Dutton family in some way without Kevin Costner.
But, according to Puck News, McConaughey hasn’t officially signed on to the series. He is the top choice to star in the series, but he won’t agree to be in it "until he sees a script." I just assumed Taylor Sheridan pitched him the series and he agreed to do it, but apparently, that’s not the case.
It is also being reported that Michelle Pfeiffer is now also in talks to join the Paramount+ series! That would be awesome! She would fit so well in this role, and I’d love to see her play an awesome badass character in the series.
Sheridan is a hell of a good screenwriter, so I have no doubt that the script for this Yellowstone follow-up series will be strong enough for McConaughey to take on, but we’ll have to wait and see! All we know about the series is that it will continue The Dutton story, “picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale.”
As for the involvement of the other Yellowstone stars, Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who play Beth and Rip on the show have reportedly asked for more money to return. Kayce actor Luke Grimes is also in negotiations to appear in the Yellowstone spin-off.
