Max Landis Will Write and Direct a Remake of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON
Max Landis, the writer of films such as Chronicle and Victor Frankenstein, is set to write and direct a remake of his dad's (John Landis) classic 1981 horror film An American Werewolf in London. Why? I don't know!
An American Werewolf in London is such a great and classic film, and I have no idea why anyone would want to remake, let alone, John Landis' son! It's not like he will be able to make a better film. Not only was the writing and directing on the original fantastic, but the makeup and special effects were brilliantly done. I can't help but think this remake is just going to be loaded with all kinds of CGI wolves, blood, and gore.
The remake will be produced by none other than The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and his Walking Dead producing partner David Albert, and of course, John Landis.
I don't get it, but I guess they just want to remake the movie for a new generation. I guess if there's one good thing that could come of this, it's that the new film may inspire the younger generation to watch the original film.
The original movie told the story of two Americans named David and Jack who go backpacking in the English countryside. While they are out one night they are attacked by a werewolf. David survives the attack and not long after, he begins to see apparitions of his dead friend Jack, who warns him that he is turning into a werewolf. Things just get wonderfully crazy from there.
I have no idea if Max Landis has what it takes to take this cinematic horror classic and give fans a decent remake of it. I liked Chronicle, didn't care for American Ultra, and hated Victor Frankenstein. I hope he can pull it off and surprise us with a great movie, but we'll just have to wait and see.
