Mayim Bialik Named Temporary Host of JEOPARDY!

I’m pretty sure none of us saw it coming that Jeopardy! would be such a source of drama this year. After the original host Alex Trebek passed away and a variety of guest hosts were chosen in order to find the new host it seemed like it would be a simple matter. Boy, was I wrong. Only nine days after being chosen to host, Mike Richards has made a hasty exit from the spotlight, opting to retain his role as executive producer.

Many fans were displeased with him being chosen to begin with, whether it was from the allegations of inappropriate behavior and comments about women or the idea that he only got the job because he was executive producer, it seems many people will not be sad to see him go. Richards had already taped a few episodes that will still air in order to maintain winner continuity, but Mayim Bialik has been slated to film three weeks worth of episodes, with Sony announcing additional hosts later this week.

Maybe we’ll get the chance to see LeVar Burton take the host’s chair again, or maybe some of the other past guest hosts that included Savannah Guthrie, Aaron Rodgers, and Ken Jennings. Which guest host was your favorite?
