MAZE RUNNER Director Wes Ball to Helm a Film Adaptation of Valiant Comics' HARBINGER

Maze Runner franchise director Wes Ball is set to helm the feature film adaptation of Valiant Comics’ Harbinger. The project is set up at Paramount Pictures, which is hoping to launch a franchise with it.

Harbinger is a next-generation X-Men-esque storyline about a group of superpowered teens on the run from the Harbinger Foundation, an organization run by a mysterious philanthropist, Toyo Harada. They want to harness their abilities for their own ends.

The most recent draft of the script was written by Andrew Lanham, who recently co-wrote Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Early on in development, when a different director was attached, actors Dylan O’Brien and Noah Centineo were circling roles in the film, but as of right now, no casting has been announced.

Ball is also working on a Planet of the Apes reboot over at Disney, and he’s currently working on the script for that film with Josh Friedman. Ball is a solid director who also worked on films such as Just Mercy, The Kid, The Glass Castle, and The Shack.
