McG is Set To Direct and Produce Disney+'s TURNER & HOOCH Series Reboot

McG has signed up to direct the pilot episode of Disney+’s upcoming series reboot of the 1989 classic film Turner & Hooch. He will also serve as an executive producer on the 12-episode show.

The series stars Josh Peck (Drake & Josh, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) as Scott Turner, “an ambitious, buttoned-up U.S. Marshall who inherits a big unruly dog. He soon realizes the pet he didn’t want may be the partner he needs.”

The series is being written and executive produced by Matt Nix (Burn Notice), and in addition to Peck, the series stars Carra Patterson, Brandon Jay McLaren, Anthony Ruivivar, Lyndsy Fonseca, Jeremy Maguire and Vanessa Lengies. Five French Mastiffs also take on the role of Hooch, Scott’s slobbery, loveable French Mastiff, Arnie, Hammer, Obi, Cyd and Mya.

This seems like a good project for McG to take on. McG’s always had more of a directing talent for TV than he did for feature films. Hopefully, the series turns out to be just as good and charming as the original film.
