MECH CADETS BOOK ONE Collection Launching This Summer Ahead of Netflix Animated Series

Netflix is working to create an animated series based on the comic series Mech Cadet Yu. To celebrate the occasion, BOOM! Studios has announced that their imprint KaBOOM! will be launching all twelve issues of the comic as one paperback volume: Mech Cadets Book One. This collection will be available this summer and give readers a new chance to experience the series from Greg Pak and Takeshi Miyazawa. In addition, Mech Cadets Book One will feature colors done by Triona Farrell, Jessica Kholinne, and Raúl Angulo.

Every four years, giant sentient robots from outer space come to Earth and bond forever with a brand new crop of Sky Corps Academy cadets. But this time, instead of a cadet, one mech bonds with Stanford Yu, a young boy working with his mom as a janitor at Sky Corps.

For Stanford, this is the opportunity of a lifetime. But first, he’ll have to earn the trust of his classmates and survive contact with an uncompromising enemy…the Sharg!

You can read Mech Cadets Book One on May 17 at your local comic shop and May 23 at your favorite bookstores. Of course, you can always talk to your local shops about getting the single issues if you don’t want to wait a couple of months. Are you excited for this paperback collection? How about the Netflix animated series?
