Meet Five New STAR WARS Characters Being Introduced in THE MANDALORIAN

This weekend Star Wars fans were treated with the first trailer for Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and everyone loved it! There’s more excitement in the air for this series than there is for The Rise of Skywalker!

This new series is going to introduce us to a bunch of new characters in the Star Wars universe, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have some new details to share with you on five of the main characters in the series. All of these characters were featured in the trailer.

The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) is a bounty hunter, who “likes to work alone and is rather attached to his stuff (and, yes, he has another, real name…).”

Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) is a “regional warlord of sorts.” It’s explained that the “Moffs were Sector Governors of the First Galactic Empire. But now that the Empire has collapsed, the governors are on their own, and some still have armies at their behest — and this one is rather ambitious.”

Cara Dune (Gina Carano) is a former Shock Trooper turned mercenary. She “fought in the Galactic Civil War under the banner of the Rebellion.”

Greef Carga (Carl Weathers) is the leader of the bounty hunters guild, and he is the one who asks The Mandalorian “to take on an assignment that nobody else wants.”

IG-11 (voiced by Taika Waititi) is a bounty hunting droid. He “often gets mistaken for the famous IG-88 in the show (just as fans watching the trailer have mistaken him for IG-88 in real life).”

I actually like that they are keep details vague for this series. I’m getting all the information that I need to know for now. I’m already sold on the series, and I can’t wait to see how this story is going to play out!

The plot of the show is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and here’s the synopsis:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Favreau wrote the series, acts as the showrunner, and is an executive producer. Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) is directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Additional directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ on November 12th, 2019.
