MEGA MAN BATTLE NETWORK LEGACY COLLECTION Gets a New Trailer Highlighting Some New Features
I am extremely excited for Capcom to launch Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection next year! I’ve dabbled a bit in the Battle Network games in the past, but have really been wanting to try again lately, but they demand a decent price on the secondhand market. Now, I’ll get to play all 10 mainline titles on modern hardware. A new trailer for the collection shows off many of the features that players will get to experience such as ranked online play, online play with friends, online trading, and more! I’m extremely excited!
The story of Mega Man Battle Network takes place in the near-future interconnected world of Net Society, which depends upon computer programs known as Network Navigators (or NetNavis for short) to manage everything from their toasters to city power grids. While the networked age brings all manner of convenience, it has also imported a wave of cybercrime eroding all levels of society. In these games, players take on the role of Lan Hikari using their PErsonal Terminal (or PET) and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, to confront the culprits behind these cybercrimes. Players control MegaMan.EXE as he explores the net, engages in grid-based combat, and uses Battle Chips to gain devastating abilities capable of deleting even the most sinister viruses.
Some additional features for the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection include an optional high resolution filter, over 1,000 pieces of MegaMan art, 188 music tracks, and an interactive 3D MegaMan.EXE PET on the launcher screen. Also, in celebration of the launch, the first two seasons of MegaMan NT Warrior will be re-released for free in early 2023. These seasons will be available to watch on Capcom’s USA Twitch channel and the Mega Man YouTube channel.
You can pre-order the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection now in a single bundle for $59.99 or you can get the digital versions of Volumes 1 and 2 separately for $39.99 each. If you pre-order the bundle, you’ll get two additional skins for the MegaMan.EXE PET on the launcher screen and four new special arrangements of original music from the series in the Music Player. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will launch on April 14, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), and PS4.
